Kool Trikes is owned by Randy Butler. The business is based in a 12,000 sq. ft. facility near Juneau Wisconsin, a small community in southeastern Wisconsin.

It all started as Butler Auto, an auto body shop that, by 1990, had acquired two frame machines, a paint booth, and a Wisconsin dealer license, which is still an important part of the business today. In the early days of the business, the primary business focus was the sales and repair of salvage vehicles, along with parts for those vehicles. Since 1990, Butler Auto has purchased over 1700 salvage cars, trucks, snowmobiles and motorcycles.

As his business matured, Randy became more interested in the motorcycle side of things. As motorcycles began taking more of his time, Randy became more interested in three wheeled motorcycles - trikes. Which brings the business to where it is today - a manufacturer of trike conversion kits and a dealer for several of the big names in the trike world.

Kool Trikes is not just an assembly point. Of the 12,000 sq. ft. available, 2,000 sq. ft. is used for the showroom, 1,200 sq. ft. is for assembly, 3,000 sq. ft is for body and paint, 2,000 sq. ft. is for the machine/fab shop, and the remainder is warehouse.

Everything that is required to trike a motorcyle is done in-house. Nothing is subcontracted out. By doing everything in-house, Randy can personally check the work and keep quality control very high. All but one piece of Kool Trikes trike conversions kits are made from 100% new components. The ONLY exception to that rule is that for some of the shaft drive bikes we convert to trikes, we use a remanufactured carrier.

The heart of Kool Trikes is fabricating. Randy has put countless hours into honing his craft and building the infrastructure needed to fabricate from concept through to completion. This means if you have special needs or want something that is not a normal production part it can still be accomplished. If you have tried and failed to get something one-off from another dealer, give Kool Trikes a shot at making it happen. At Kool Trikes nothing is impossible, it just takes a little longer!

Several of our customers are partially disabled due to complications from illness or war injuries. We are aware of the issues that can arise from these life altering events. If you are living with an injury or a disability, we might be able to create or modify the piece you need to get back in the saddle and ride again!

The salvage part of the business works for many people, but if you're in need of a bike-to-trike and a salvage bike is not for you, Randy has developed a very good working relationship with many dealers and wholesale auctions to help find you a clean title motorcycle that will be perfect for your needs.
